Fun in the sun, come join us for a fun camp out in the contryside learning about horses.

What your child will learn at pony camp:
* feeding & taking care of a horse
* tacking up, cleaning tack and correct terminollogy
* grooming & platting (main & tail)
* working in groups and making new friends
* how to ride a horse
Outing arranged Wednesday 5th January 2011 Camp starts at 7.30 am
Horse care unit:
* Pupils will learn the value of charity work and how important it is to
help animals in distress
Outing arranged for Thursday 6th January 2011
A picnic at the horse races: Trip to the Vaal Race Course
* learning about the life as a jockey, meeting a lady and gentalmen jockey
* learning about the life of a race horse trainer & assistant trainer
* observing the loading of horses at the pens
What they will learn before and after outings at the IEA yard with instructors:
* the pupil will learn team building and leadership skills.
* the children will learn to perform various tasks according to age and experience.
* riding may include lessons,gymkhana games, practicing a dressage test,
*show jumping course, utility test or equitation test.
Friday 7th January 2011 show day at the IEA yard with instructors:
Mom and Dad can come join in the fun and take photo’s of the kids at the pony camp show which is held on the last day of pony camp. (Instructors will take photo’s of the event so no need to worry if you cant make it). We hold a prize giving where ‘most improved pony camper’ and other prizes are handed out as well as rosettes for winning individuals and teams.
The pony camp fee is R1200.00 for sleep over campers or R900.00 for day campers.
Sleep over pony camp fee covers all accommodation, meals & refreshments, both day outings, practical,ridden & theory lessons, show class entries, golf shirt, cap, notes, certificate, prizes and rosettes.
The children will be provided with 3 meals a day as well as light snacks and cold drinks throughout the day. Marshmallow and hot chocolate braai. Accommodation either in tents (instructors will camp out with children) or in the outside housing with instructor. Children will be under 24 hour supervision by 2 instructors. I have my first aid level 1 as well as my SANEF teaching qualifications.
Day pony camp fee covers lunch meal & refreshments, both day outings, practical,ridden & theory lessons, show class entries, golf shirt, cap, notes, certificate, prizes and rosettes.
