Class 10 – The power jump
The power jump had four starters. IEA Mill Pike ridden by Sharne Feher from Immaculate Equestrian Academy, Goblin ridden by Sharron Brown, Blue Parrot ridden by Carly Gough and stabled at Jamungi Equestrian Academy and Va va va voom ridden by Bonnie Leigh Rensleigh from Cite Riding School.
Sharne and Mill Pike were the first to start the five jump course. Jump number one started at 90cm while the fifth and last jump measured 1.10m in the first round. Sharne was unlucky to have her stirrup come off her saddle after jump number two and chose to retire. Carly and Blue Parrot went next and cleared all five jumps in fine style. Sharron and Goblin knocked jump three and five but elected to buy back into the next round. Bonnie and Va va va Voom jumped a clear. Sharron, Carly and Bonnie advanced to the next round.
Two jumps were dropped from the course, with the final three jumps being raised. The last jump now stood at 1.20m. Both Bonnie and Carly knocked the first and smallest jump while Sharron and Goblin unfortunately tipped the last pole. This meant Carly and Bonnie were now on equal scores. To determine the winner the course was raised again.
Two jumps now had to be jumped, a red oxer standing at 1.20m and the final upright, which measured at 1.30m.
Carly and Blue Parrot went first and sadly knocked both jumps. Bonnie and Va va va Voom now had one pole in hand, which was not used, as Bonnie cleared both jumps – making her the winner of Immaculate Equestrian Academy’s Heritage Day Power Jump.
